Tyumen (New Construction)
Project period: 2013 –
2014
General Designer: Stroyproekt Engineering Group
Client: Tyumen Region Road Agency
Today Tyumen is a major industrial and traffic hub as well as an important cultural, scientific and educational centre of the Urals.
The eastern section of Tyumen By-pass is the most needed and the most important one as this part of the road will accommodate transit traffic from/to Tobolsk and Omsk that now crosses the city. Thus, the meridional roads will be relieved of traffic load, which will improve traffic conditions and road safety as well as the urban environment.
Stage 1 of Tyumen Eastern By-pass includes a new bridge across the Tura River and a grade-separated traffic interchange with an overpass at Dambovskaya Street and a retaining wall for the Tura River left bank protection.
The Tura River Bridge will have a 147 m central span with a continuous beam deck and an orthotropic carriageway slab, which will ensure the required navigation clearance. The bridge will have separate decks for each traffic direction and precast reinforced concrete piers of individual design.
Main parameters of the bridge:
– Total bridge length: 718.84 m
– Bridge width: 2х13.6 m
– Bridge underclearance: 141.41 х 10.5 m
The traffic interchange has a tube-type configuration with an overpass above the main road. The overpass deck is an expansion-continuous beam system consisting of prefabricated prestressed reinforced concrete I-beams. The overpass piers are cast-in-situ column structures.
Main parameters of the road section:
– Total length: 1.4 km
– Road category: trunk express road
– Design speed: 120 km/h
