Novosibirsk (new construcction)
Project period: 2014 – Present
General Designer: AO Institute Stroyproekt
Client: OOO VIS
The river crossing includes a bridge over the Ob River with approaches, traffic interchanges at the right and at the left banks, a tunnel under Trans-Siberian railway road, toll plaza buildings and utilities.
Main technical parameters:
• total length of the bridge: 5,120 m
• design speed: 100 kmh
• lanes: 3+3
• navigation span dimensions: 2 (120 х 13.5) m
• bridge width: 30.18 m
• lane width: 3.75 m
It was proposed to design a bridge of a combined system.
The span layout is (42+60+72+72+60) + (84+110+110+110+126+126+110) + (229+102+48) + (39+39) m; the bridge length to the back edges of the abutment wings is 1,553.63 m.
From the right bank side, a two-span cable-stayed deck with a single pylon will be located at the approach to the central span.
The cable-stayed deck is supported by a composite pylon. It structure consists of heavy reinforced concrete columns with a steel crossbeam.
The pylon is Н-shaped to resemble Russian letter “H” (N) which is the first letter of the city name (Novosibirsk). Besides this centrepiece might be perceived as a kind of triumphal arches that used to be built in historical centres of different capitals worldwide.
The bridge is aimed to improve traffic situation in the city. At the same time, the designed river crossing will ensure connection to two federal roads, М51 Baykal Highway and M53 (road to Tomsk and Kemerovo).
The design of the fourth bridge over the Ob River in Novosibirsk wins a ROSINFRA award
The bridge design developed by Stroyproekt Engineering Group was highly appreciated for its budget, social and economic efficiency, investment attractiveness and unique solutions.
