Construction of a ramp flyover in Sochi

Construction of a ramp flyover in Sochi

Sochi (new construction)
Project period: 2013 – 2015
General Designer: Institute Stroyproekt ZAO
Client: Federal Highway Agency Directorate for Construction and Reconstruction of Motor Roads of the Black Sea Coast

The site particulars, which have significantly influenced the choice of technical solutions, are extremely dense urban development and a great number of the existing utilities owned by the municipality and Adler railway station.
Main technical parameters:
- Total length with approaches:  481.6 m
- Number of lanes:  2
- Total carriageway width:  9.5-10.9 m
The piers are of cast-in-situ reinforced concrete and have bored pile foundations.  The 264 m-long superstructure is a beam-cable system with one pylon and a span scheme 42+2х90+42 m.   The stiffening box girder with a steel orthotropic carriageway plate is strengthened with a cable-stayed truss in the central spans.  The cable-stayed truss has 26 suspenders. The central span overpasses the railway.
The flyover will have aesthetic lighting.
The project will ensure a comfortable access to the railway station for personal and public transport and will improve traffic in the adjacent area, and will relieve the nearby streets of parked cars and buses thus increasing the traffic capacity of this transport centre.
