Science and technology policies and improvement of road sector regulations were discussed at the meeting of Rosavtodor Scientific and Technical Council

Science and technology policies and improvement of road sector regulations were discussed at the meeting of Rosavtodor Scientific and Technical Council 31.07.2019

As the deputy head of the Federal Road Agency Yevgeny Nosov informs, 85 national standards are to be newly developed and approved in the road sector by the end of the year.

Both the existing regulations and those that are being developed will form a legal framework to encourage using of new materials and construction methods.
The Safe and High-quality Roads national project requires even more extensive work to update about 245 existing standards. Moreover, those legal documents that cover technical regulation procedures and standardisation itself should also be revised.

As it was proposed at the meeting, the validity period of preliminary national standards should increase to 5 years (currently it is limited to 3 years). In view of this, the Scientific and Technical Council took a decision to address Rosstandart with a proposal to amend the legislation on technical regulation and standardization.

Stroyproekt is actively involved in development of technical strategies and road industry regulations. The company’s experts carry out various researches and studies for the road sector, including those for the Federal Road Agency and Russian Highways State Company.
