Stroyproekt Engineering Group is actively introducing BIM technologies into practice. To systematize activities in the sphere of BIM engineering, a dedicated company’s division, Stroyproekt-INFO, was established in 2016.


Stroyproekt Engineering Group is actively introducing BIM technologies into practice. To systematize activities in the sphere of BIM engineering, a dedicated company’s division, Stroyproekt-INFO, was established in 2016.
The tasks of the new division include facilitating an integrated transition to information modelling technology within the company and rendering BIM implementation services for road construction sector.

In June 2016 Stroyproekt won a tender and in August signed a contract commissioned by Rosavtodor for carrying out a scientific research “Development of temporary interaction procedures and additional Terms of References for elaboration of design and detailed design using BIM for pilot projects related to construction, rehabilitation or overhaul of transport infrastructure taking into account European standards”.

BIM technology enables designers to respond quickly to any design changes resulting from coordination of solutions adopted by designers of various project elements. BIM allows integrating designed elements and information about them into a single shared database, making a future facility clear from the very first stages of designing. In this way, any discrepancies are promptly identified.  In addition, as international practice shows, this technology helps to develop and consider several design alternatives, estimating and comparing their costs, construction periods and operation.

A first step in introducing this novel technology in our company was designing a pilot project using BIM and testing capabilities of the existing software. At present, Stroyproekt-INFO is introducing BIM at the next stage simulating actual construction directly in the process of designing.
