Meeting in Munich

On 12-13 April 2016 Stroyproekt delegation headed by General Director Aleksei Zhurbin visited BAUMA 2016 Trade Fair for Construction Machinery in Munich. The purpose of the visit was to share experiences in road construction.

The Stroyproekt experts took part in the working meetings held by the delegation of  the Russian Federal Road Agency (Rosavtodor) chaired by its head Roman Starovoit with the representatives of Bavaria Road Administration. They also participated in a number of workshops on road construction. The German engineers shared their experience focusing on road repairs and maintenance and also on sources for funding “road budgets” ensuring adequate levels of financial support for the road infrastructure development and maintenance.

Another important issue of the discussions was application of BIM technologies at all stages of a project – from its design to operation.  Since 2015 Stroyproekt has been actively introducing this novel design approach. The first step was to test BIM using already completed designs. Today our engineers continue developing BIM methods within special working groups set by Rosavtodor and State Company Russian Highways (Avtodor).  

Besides the Russian specialists visited the factory of MAURER AG, a world leader in production of bearing systems, bearings and expansion joints for bridges and other industrial and civil works and took the opportunity to learn more about innovative technologies in the road construction industry.
