Standardisation, quality improvement and introduction of new technologies, equipment and materials

On 20 October 2015, a regular session of the Standardisation, Quality Improvement and Innovations Section of Federal Road Agency Rosavtodor was chaired by Evgeny Damje, Advisor to Rosavtodor Director. Aleksey Zhurbin, General Director of Stroyproekt took part in this session.
The session focused on preparation of an expanded meeting between Rosavtodor and Ministry for Construction of the Russian Federation to discuss inter-ministerial cooperation in updating road industry standards and regulations and in facilitating the introduction of innovative technologies.
The session also discussed Research and Development Programme for 2016 – 2017 considering the requirements set forth by the Presidium of the State Council and those specified in Priority Action Plan on Modernisation and Quality Improvement in Road Industry, adopted by Federal Road Agency in 2013.
The members of Rosavtodor Research and Technical Council supported the initiative to form up expert groups aiming at:
- Scientific and technical support to Rosavtodor agencies in reviewing designs and cost estimates of road projects and in accepting modified technical solutions that allow decreasing projects’ costs without affecting their reliability and performance parameters; this support shall contribute to cost-effective disbursement of federal funds as requested by the Presidium of the State Council;
- Expert evaluation of studies to be carried out under the Research and Development Programme of Rosavtodor;
- Development of manuals for advance training of road engineers.
