Innovations in Road Construction Discussed in Sochi

The 5th International Forum “Innovations in Road Construction” took place in Sochi. It was organized by State Company AVTODOR and attended by members of the State Duma and representatives of relevant ministries, and construction and design companies. 

Stroyproekt executives made presentations at three sessions of the Forum. General Director Aleksei Zhurbin spoke at the session “Cost estimation and pricing in road construction and repairs”. He highlighted such issues as the mismatch between the existing cost estimation guidelines and the market realities, in particular the gap between the pricing regulations and technology developments, and the gap between the needs of project clients and end users. Mr. Zhurbin suggested harmonizing the road construction pricing system in line with the best international practices.   

A. Kusik, Stroyproekt Moscow Branch Director, made a presentation at the session “Optimization of design codes to ensure road safety and quality”.  In his presentation “Improvement of design codes and technical regulations in transport construction” A. Kusik noted discrepancies and redundancies in the existing design codes.   

At the session “Digital construction. BIM-transformation of road projects”, Deputy General Director M. Tsarev spoke of the S-INFO software package developed and used by the company.  The package has been created based on Russian software components and is intended to design long road projects. Stroyproekt engineers have already completed a number of projects using BIM technologies at various stages of design.
