News from Novgorodstroyproekt: Torzhok bypass is open to traffic 03.08.2016

On 2 August, Minister of Transport Sokolov, Head of Rosavtodor Starovoit and Acting Governor of Tver Region Rudenya opened to traffic the rehabilitated four-lane bypass road around Torzhok, being part of the M-10 highway Moscow – St. Petersburg.

Rehabilitation works were carried out to bring the road geometry and transport and service parameters into compliance with road category 1B. Now the road has modern safety features, such as median barriers, noise screens and lighting. The road is paved with crushed stone and mastic asphalt which is resistant to weather variation and wear.

The traffic capacity of the 15-km long road is 20 thousand vehicles a day (in future it will be 40 thousand). The bypass road will decrease traffic congestion on both directions, hence reducing the accident rate and will enhance industrial development of the region.

The detailed design was developed by Novgorodstroyproekt. The Client, Tekhnostroy appreciated a high-level expertise of our designers.
