Arch launching of Bugrinsky Bridge in Novosibirsk completed

Arch launching of Bugrinsky Bridge in Novosibirsk completed 11.04.2014

Vladimir Gorodetsky, acting Governor of Novosibirsk Region, gave the signal for the start of the final stage of launching. Erection of steelworks and their installation in design position were carried out by launching with launching noses mounted at each half of the arch and moving from the right and the left banks towards the midspan. Cables installation and tensioning are currently underway. It is planned to complete cable tensioning in the second decade of August 2014. Bugrinsky Bridge will be commissioned at the end of September/ early October 2014 and will partially relieve the city of traffic jams.
Reference: Bugrinsky Bridge has been designed by Stroyproekt. The total length of the Ob River crossing is 5.48 km, including the bridge length of 2,097 m and two traffic interchanges with overpasses and overhead pedestrian crossings. The bridge layout and its construction method are unique for the world bridge building practice: the main span is a 380 m long network arch. The arch decks are erected by longitudinal launching from either side of the river.
