Alexey Zhurbin,
JSC “Institute Strojproect” General Director

Born on June 24, 1961, in Leningrad.

In 1983 graduated from Leningrad Institute of Railway Engineers (Faculty of Bridges and Tunnels) in specialty “Civil Engineer”. He started his carrier as foreman in Mostootryad N37 of “Mostostroy No 6” and then was transferred to the Leningrad branch of Institute “Giprostroymost” where he worked until 1991, first as a senior engineer and then as a leading engineer. He took an active part in design, construction and reconstruction of bridges on the territory of the former Soviet Union including:

  • The Northern Dvina river crossing in Archangel
  • Bridge over the Sukhona river in Veliki Ustyug
  • Kremlin bridge in Novgorod.

In 1990 Alexey Zhurbin together with other three colleagues founded MP “Strojproect” (presently JSC “Institute Strojproect”) where he occupied the position of chief engineer.

Since 1995 he was director of “Institute Strojproect” and since 2002 he has been the General Director. He is responsible for administration of the company including human resources and finance politics.

Besides, A. Zhurbin is a member of the editorial board of All-Russia publication “Bulletin of Bridge Building” and a member of the board of trustees of AMOST Association.

For his input A. Zhurbin was awarded with:
  • Honorary diplomas of the Governors of St. Petersburg, Tver Region, Ministry of Transportation of Russia
  • “Honorable Road Builder of Russia” title


His record of service in the Institute exceeds 17 years.

Hobbies: mountain skis, singing, guitar, soloist of the “Trio Directors”, player of the Institute volleyball team.

Married, two daughters.


 
Alexander Smirnov
First Deputy of the General Director – Director

Born on November 16, 1958, in Leningrad. In 1981 graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Railway Engineers. Specialty: “Bridges and Tunnels”. Qualification: “Civil engineer”.

His carrier started in Mostootryad-71 in Komi Republic where he raised from a foreman to the chief engineer.

A. Smirnov took part in the following projects:
  • Bridges on motorway Ukhta-Syktyvkar (4 bridges);
  • Overpass in Ukhta (length: 550 m);
  • Bridge over the Vychegda river on motorway Suktyvkar-ust-Kulom (490 m);
  • Bridge over the Vym river (length: 450 m);
  • Bridge over the Vychegda river (length: 350 m) on motorway Ust-Kulom-Gaina;
  • Construction of bridge on railway line Obskaya-Bovanenkovo (Yamal Peninsula).


Alexander Smirnov served in the Railway Troops and was involved in construction in of Baikal-Amur Railway. In 1997-1998 he worked in the Road Committee of Leningrad Region as a chief specialist of the “Lenmostinvest” Project Implementation Group of the World Bank where he managed the work on preparation of design and tender documents and was responsible for the quality of works executed in Leningrad region and financed from the World Bank loan RU3990.

Since 1998 he works in JSC “Institute Strojproect” first as Deputy Director for Supervision and since 2002 as the First Deputy of the General Director.
He is responsible for the following issues:
  • Supervision activities;
  • Technical Client Management;
  • Institute Quality System according to ISO9000


At the moment Alexander Smirnov manages the activities of the supervision group on the following current projects:
  • Construction of the Western High Speed Diameter in St. Petersburg;
  • Construction of engineering structures on St. Petersburg By-pass;
  • Completion of St. Petersburg Flood Protection Barrier;
  • Reconstruction of M-5 Federal Motorway

  • “Honorable Road Builder of Russia” Breastplate , Category I and II;
  • Honorary Diploma of the Russian Ministry of Construction;

Hobbies: volleyball, skiing, travelling, nature, permanent captain of the Institute volleyball team.

Alexey Surovtsev
Chairman of the Board of Directors

Mr. Surovtsev is also a Deputy of the General Director and the Technical Director.
Alexey Surovtsev is a member of the editorial board of "Putevoi" magazine, the bulletin of St. Petersburg road building complex association.
In 1985 Mr. Surovtsev graduated with distinction from the Institute of the railway Engineers, Faculty "Bridges and Tunnels". He is a candidate of sciences in economics.
He was awarded an honorary diploma of the Russian Association of contractors in road building sector "The best production manager 2003".
Among his awards are:
  • medal "In memory of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg";
  • breastplate "Honorable Builder";
  • breastplate "Honorable Road Builder", II degree.

 

 

 
Alexander Zlotnikov
Chief Engineer

Born on November 9, 1957. In 1980 graduated from Leningrad Institute of Railway Engineers, Faculty “Bridges and Tunnels”. Qualification: “Civil engineer”. After graduation Alexander Zlotnikov came to Lengiprotransmost Institute to the position of designer where he worked until 1983 in the departments of construction equipment and standard design.

Between 1983 and 1991 he worked in Leningrad branch of Lengiprostroymost: first as an engineer, then in the position of a leading engineer. Alexander Zlotnikov participated in development of a program complex for designing of bridge structures, did special calculations as well as took part in design and supervision of construction works, repairs and reconstruction of the following projects:
  • Finland Railway Bridge over the Neva in St. Petersburg;
  • Bridges on Yamal peninsula, in Karelia, Archangelsk and Murmansk regions;
  • Bridges in Finland.

Alexander Zlotnikov took part in development of special equipment for bridge construction, pier structures for temporary use as well as standard solutions for bridges.

In 1987 he got the second education in Leningrad Polytechnic Institute with specialty “Automated Design Systems”.
He is one of the founders of MP “Strojproect”, presently JSC “Institute Strojproect”, where he was appointed a Deputy Director and since 2005 the Chief Engineer.

Alexander Zlotnikov is in charge of development of innovation techniques in the Institute. He is responsible for:
  • Complex engineering analyses and technical solutions;
  • Technical control of design solutions and regulatory control of design and estimate documentation;
  • Standardizing of state-of-the-art engineering solutions, materials, design and construction techniques, automation of design process;
  • Introduction of information technologies in the activities of the Institute, including the software and hardware issues and reproducing equipment;
  • Design activities qualification upgrading.

Awards:
  • «Builder of St. Petersburg» Breastplate
  • Title «Honorary Road Builder of Russia»
  • Honorary Title «Honoured Builder of Russia»

Besides, Alexander Zlotnikov is a lecturer and professor of “Bridges and Tunnels” Chair of St. Petersburg State Architecture and Civil Engineering University.

Hobbies: classical music, travelling, chess, participation in Institute chess tournaments.

Elena Galaudina
Finance Director

She graduated from Leningrad Institute of Civil Engineers and the Higher School of Economics of the St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance on the Russian-French “Financial Management” program.

She worked in “Lenorgengstroy” trust, Leningrad Branch of Institute “Giprostroymost” and in “Neva” Construction Company. Since 2001 in JSC “Institute Strojproect”.

Elena Galaudina was awarded the Honorary Diploma of the Ministry of the Regional Development of the Russian Federation and the Letter of Gratitude from the Governor of St. Petersburg. She holds the Title of “Honorable Builder of Russia”.
